Endemic herb in the pepper family with 25 native Hawaiian species. Usually found in wet shaded areas. |

Kokio`ula`ula (Hibiscus spp.) |
|
They occur in dry to wet forests on all the main islands as shrubs to tall trees. Flowers can be white, yellow, orange, or red, depending on the species. |
|
Hours needed: Members achieve this level after accumulating 20 and up to 39 hours of participation. Rewards: 20% discount at all KNPS events that require entry fee, 5% discount on products, and one free mounted photo of your choice upon achieving level. |

Munroidendron (Munroidendron racemosum) |
|
Pokulakalaka, the sole species in the genus Munroidendron, is an extremely rare flowering plant in the ivy family. |
|
Hours needed: Members achieve this level after accumulating 40 and up to 59 hours of participation. Rewards: 20% discount at all KNPS events that require entry fee, 5% discount on products, and one free KNPS glass native flower ornament upon achieving level. |
|
This extremely variable species may be mature and flower when only a few inches tall in bogs but may reach towering heights in other habitats. |
|
Hours needed: Members achieve this level after accumulating 60 and up to 80 hours of participation. Rewards: 20% discount at all KNPS events that require entry fee, 5% discount on products, and one free KNPS native plant calendar yearly. |
